RaceDay Safety: Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer

In the spirit of breast cancer awareness month, racers who buy pink safety gear this month (October) at RaceDay Safety will help support the fight against the dreaded disease. The safety gear retailer will donate 10% of sales of select pink safety equipment toward Baptist Health South Florida.

“Last year at this time we had a big run on pink personal safety gear,” said RaceDay Safety’s Laura Shaw. “Then, I put two and two together. I found out that customers purchasing pink products were participating in events that had programs tied to breast cancer awareness, research, and prevention.”

With that in mind, Laura Shaw and Kevin Shaw of RaceDay Safety prepared for this month earlier this year.

“We increased our pink inventory, and decided to give back 10% of our profits to a breast cancer organization,” said Laura. “This is an important cause, because it affects everyone in racing, directly or through family members or friends.”

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and the second most deadly. However, it is often highly treatable.

Baptist Health South Florida consists of 12 hospitals and more than 100 outpatient facilities and physician practices. Its Miami Cancer Institute is a member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance. That allows it to provide cutting-edge treatments, including clinical trials, to patients.

“Kevin found Baptist Health South Florida because of its ties as a title sponsor for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Homestead Miami Speedway,” Laura said.

The RaceDay Safety Pink Collection includes a large range of products. That includes suits, gloves, helmets, T-shirts, and even harnesses. For a full a listing, follow this link.

“Customers have ordered pink safety gear for all types of races,” said Laura. “Last week, a husband and wife came in for pink items for a powder puff race at I-75 Raceway in Tennessee.”
