American Crate All-Star Series: Ambitious 2021 Ahead

The American Crate All-Star Series presented by PPM Racing Products announced an ambitious slate of racing for its touring series in 2021. Its third season consists of 26 points-paying races at 15 tracks across six states — Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia. Highlights of the schedule include new venues and four $10,000-to-win races.

The series starts off with a doubleheader in April, with the series making its first appearance at Boyd’s Speedway in Georgia on Friday and a return visit to Mountain View Raceway in Tennessee on Saturday.

Racers venture to six venues new to the American Crate All-Star Series in 2021. In addition to Boyd’s Speedway, those tracks include Wartburg Speedway (May 1 — which had a date cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions), West Virginia Motor Speedway (July 4 — the only crate series race at the storied facility), The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway (July 17–18), and Willard Speedway (which reopens next season after closing in 2014).

The series also intends to put on its first race at Natural Bridge Speedway (July 30), with a show promoted by John Philpot, after its initially scheduled debut in 2019 was cancelled.

Tracks returning from 2020 include Beckley Motorsports Park, Crossville Speedway, Lizard Creek Speedway, Mountain Motorsports Park, Smoky Mountain Speedway, Volunteer Speedway, and Wythe Raceway. Tri-County Race Track returns as well, with their last race occurring in 2019.

The American Crate All-Star Series hosts four $10,000-to-win events — July 3 at Mountain Motorsports Park, July 18 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway, July 31 at Wythe Raceway, and August 7 at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

The weekly championship ends with a touring series race on October 2 at Mountain Motorsports Park. It will start 26 cars, with two provisional starting spots available for weekly racers.

Two weeks later, the touring series concludes its 27-race season at Smoky Mountain on October 16.

After that, the American Crate All-Star Series once again wraps up the year with a non-points special in November. They return to Volunteer Speedway for the Crate Late Model National Championship.
