Clayton Miller bested a tough field last weekend during the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series event at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. He made it look easy, but most didn’t see the hard work that Clayton Miller and his team had to put in the night before.
“We got to the shop yesterday evening, checking the valves in this thing [car], and we found a broken valve,” the Elkton, Kentucky, driver said in victory lane. “So, we was changing the motor last night at about 5:30, six o’clock.”
On the track, a flurry of action occurred behind him. Several drivers jockeyed for position to make a run toward the front and take a shot at Miller’s lead position.
