Living just 20 minutes away in Kite, Kentucky, Brandon Fouts calls Mountain Motor Speedway his home track. With experience there going back to 2006, Fouts has become the man to beat at the Isom, Kentucky, dirt oval. Now, he’s looking forward to the American All-Star Series Presented by PPM Racing Products coming into town this Saturday, October 5.
When the series last visited Mountain Motor Speedway in July, Fouts won. In September, he scored a $3,000-to-win super late model race victory there, too.
Fouts does travel to other tracks at time, but he said that he frequently stays close to home because other venues are often two to three hours away. That’s why he welcomes the opportunity when a series comes to his home track, offering a chance to race with increased competition.
“It shows them that we’re just as a good as they are,” Fouts said of winning big events.
Mountain Motor Speedway has seen several promoters and names come and go over the years. In between promoters the track sat dormant, often being neglected. However, in recent times there have been several improvements made, and Fouts praised the efforts of current promoters Darren Slone and Rick Noble.
“It’s better now than since I’ve raced there,” said Fouts. “They’re really doing a good job there. [The track surface] used to be rough, but it ain’t no more — it’s usually smooth. They’ve done a lot of upgrades — new concessions, new bathrooms. They got air-conditioned bathrooms down in the pits. They’ve done a lot of work.”

Brandon Fouts hopes to do more than enjoy those air-conditioned bathrooms when the American All-Star Series Presented by PPM Racing Products rolls into Isom, Kentucky, on Saturday, October 5. Fouts hopes to make it two-for-two in the wins department for the series at Mountain Motor Speedway.
