With local short tracks becoming increasingly frustrated by larger streaming companies, Dirt2Media offers a breath of fresh air. Like so many dirt ovals, Dirt2Media is a small business, too. As the result, they offer services for short tracks that other streamers might struggle to provide.
“We try to be very flexible to meet the promoter’s needs,” said Ryan Bowling (pictured), of Dirt2Media. “We cater to their individual needs and offer a good percentage of sales, trying to be as fair as possible.”
That flexibility extends to a wide range of things.
If a track wants specific talent to work the show, that’s no problem. Dirt2Media can work with that track to obtain those people.
If a track wants play ads during streaming coverage that serve their sponsors, that’s no problem, either. Dirt2Media can make that happen.
More importantly, a growing segment of tracks have become disenchanted with what they feel is a lopsided deal in revenue sharing between them and some streaming companies. Dirt2Media said they provide a greater degree of transparency when it comes to the financials.
“After each event we stream, [promoters] get a full report on who’s watching their shows, complete with email addresses, locations of viewers, and IP addresses,” Bowling said. “We try to be honest with each other. We’re all running a business, and there’s enough of the pie to go around for everyone.”
The commitment of Dirt2Media to racing is further reflected by their sponsorship of this weekend’s event for the American All-Star Series Presented by PPM Racing Products. The Brick Mill Bash Presented by Dirt2Media takes place on Saturday, October 8, at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. It’ll pay $10,000 to the winner, a handsome prize that should attract some of the region’s best 604 late model racers to a race that will be aired live on Dirt2Media.
