Casey Cash: A Fitting Homage to Kyle Larson

It all seemed to fit for Casey Cash. A blue car. A sponsorship from a car dealership. Why not create an homage to one of the most versatile drivers in motorsport right now, 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson.

“I work at a dealership as a service writer, at Duncan Family Automotive Group,” said Cash, 52, of Spring City, Tennessee. “I thought if we could get my boss to sponsor me, we’ll do a wrap like Kyle Larson’s, because I’ve always liked Kyle Larson.”

Cash started racing stock cars just last year. Prior to that, he spent much of his life competing in go-karts, since the early 1990s. This year, Cash switched classes to the Thunder division at Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tennessee. He’s visited victory lane eight times in 2022 and currently holds the points lead. With years of experience in motorsport, Cash admires Larson’s abilities.

“[Larson] gets it on the edge of no return,” Cash said. “You’re always fastest right before you wreck. If you can figure where that edge is, and stay on the right side of it, that’s going to make your fastest lap.”

Fortunately for Cash, the Duncan Family Automotive Group agreed to sponsor him. Seth Jolley and J2 Graphics then went to work on creating the wrap.

“If you copy a NASCAR car, it automatically looks good,” said Cash. “You get immediate recognition. All these NASCAR guys have marketing people, too, and they know how to get a scheme that looks good on the track.”

Looks good, indeed. Casey Cash has arguably one of the most recognizable cars at his hometown track, Mountain View Raceway.

“When I pulled it out of the trailer [at the track], everyone’s jaws dropped,” Cash said. “Fans love it. Even my competitors tell me it’s awesome.”
