Comp Cams recently added pushrods and valve springs to their Hustler line of upgrades for GM crate engines. These engine components appear stock, but offer performance enhancements over their OEM counterparts.
Pushrods
The Hustler pushrods maintain a stock appearance and match the GM-prescribed length of 7.122″, but that’s where the similarities end. Comp Cams engineered the pushrods from a durable hardened tube that meets or exceeds OEM specifications and allows for the use of guide plates. At .075″ thick, the pushrods increase stiffness over stock .060″-wall ones. Ultimately, the pushrods decrease valvetrain deflection to improve performance. Available for GM 603/604 applications.
Part Number: #7817-16 (set of 16), #7817-1 (single)
Suggested Retail Price: $69.95 (7817-16), $4.95 (7817-1)
Valve Springs
Comp Cams offers an improved version of the GM LS6 blue valve spring. The company’s engineers based the Hustler valve springs on GM part numbers 12499224 and 12565313. They improved the springs by providing a 4% higher seat and open loads for better dynamic control. It also permits an extra .020″ of lift. High quality wire and small batch manufacturing processes improve durability, according to Comp Cams. The valve springs appear stock — down to their blue paint. Available for GM 603/604 and CT525 applications.
Part Number: #H604-16 (set of 16), #H604-1 (single)
Suggested Retail Price: $249.95 (H604-16), $16.95 (H604-1)

Comp Cams offers additional stock-appearing GM crate upgrades for camshafts and lifters as part of its Hustler line.
