When Cory Hedgecock ventures to a Topless Outlaws Dirt Late Model Series event, he’s the man to beat. In five races, Hedgecock has three wins. When he didn’t finish first, he placed second.
One of those wins came last Saturday at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee. He made it look easy, despite saying in victory lane he had a tight race car.
Behind him, however, the battle was a bit more heated. Several drivers vied for position, including racers such as Ronnie Johnson, Chase King, Rusty Ballenger, and John Owenby.
Watch this five-minute highlight reel from Richard Ford of Speedway Videos Production for what you need to know happened during the last Topless Outlaws race.
Outside Groove contributor Richard “Flipper” Ford’s history in racing dates back to 1986. He started in the sport by wheeling an outlaw mini around the ¼-mile paved oval of Corpus Christi Speedway in Texas. He first got behind the camera in 1995 and has covered the sport since then. Ford and his wife, Tammy, own and operate Speedway Videos Production, of Knoxville, Tennessee.
