While not new, the Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC multiprocess welder still warrants the spotlight. The all-in-one unit performs many of the types of welds needed on a race car — AC/DC TIG, MIG, flux-cored, and stick. And, it comes in an easily portable form that works with 120V (conventional) or 240V outlets.
The machine can MIG-weld 24 ga. to 3/8″ steel, 18 ga. to 3/8″ aluminum. It can also DC stick-weld 16 ga. to 3/8″ steel. And, it can AC/DC TIG-weld 24 ga. to 1/4″ steel and aluminum.
If you need to switch between different types of welding, the Multimatic 220 AC/DC multiprocess welder makes that easy with its QuickTech technology. The machine automatically determines the correct polarity and switches to the right process when the welder engages the trigger or foot control. This allows you to connect a MIG gun and TIG torch at the same time. The machine also features two shielding gas connections, allowing you to attach MIG and TIG gases at the same time.
A color LCD screen allows you to change settings. TIG welders can fine-tune AC balance and frequency, as well as DC pulse. Or, welders can rely on the Pro-Set feature that offers preset controls designed by Miller engineers.
The Multimatic 220 AC/DC multiprocess welder comes with a multi-voltage plug (MVP). This allows you to easily connect to common 120V or 240V power receptacles. Without needing a tool, just choose the plug that fits and connect it to the power cord.
The machine provides options for controls. With a standard 14-pin connector, you can use a foot control, fingertip control, or a wireless foot control.
Weighing only 56 lb., the Multimatic 220 AC/DC multiprocess welder goes where you go — in the shop or at the track. With all the aforementioned features, it serves racers well, with whatever they want to weld, wherever they need to weld it.
