WATERBURY, Vt. - ACT Dodge Tour racing makes its 2002 season debut this Saturday on WDEV FM96.1 and AM550, and NewsTalk 1390/WKDR, with the running of the “New England Dodge Dealers 100” from Star Speedway in Epping, NH.
The broadcast, anchored by award-winning motorsports commentator Ken Squier and color commentator Pete Hartt, kicks off a summerlong schedule of events on the ACT Radio Network. Air-time for Saturday night’s broadcast is set for 5 p.m.
“There are a lot of new faces ready to challenge the veterans on the ACT Dodge Tour this season,” said Squier. “And with more than 40 cars expected to attempt qualifying, we’re looking forward to a great race at Star.”
Saturday’s “New England Dodge Dealers 100” is the first of 15 ACT-sanctioned races to be broadcast on WDEV and WKDR this season. Highlights of the schedule include the winners-only “Great Remington Shootout” from Airborne Raceway in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, April 13; the season-opening “Merchant’s Bank Freedom Lynx 150” from Vermont’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday, May 5; and the 39th annual “Dodge Dealers Vermont Milk Bowl” from Thunder Road on Sunday, September 29.
