First Street Stock Checkers For Bill Comi, Then Rain At T-Road

Barre, VT - - Thunder Road had a tough time of it Thursday, battling and eventually losing out to rainfall and enduring multiple early restarts in an attempted Late Model feature, but Street Stock Bill Comi of Plainfield had a great night.

Comi raced to his first career win in the WDEV Radio Night trophy dash with Brendan Moodie Jr of North Wolcott and Ed Companion Jr of Colchester in hot pursuit. A multi-car fracas on the backstretch brought out the yellow with three laps left and Comi saw a healthy lead erased, but he had no problems once the green came back out. Street Stock point leader Chris Hedges finished fourth, a car length ahead of fifth-place Gary Mullen.

The Late Models began their 40-lap feature with Sam Caron and Mike Perdue in the front row and Dave Whitcomb and semi-feature winner Tim Martin in row two, but trouble came early and often. By restart number four and Bill Donahue in the lead, only six laps had been completed and the Late Models were sent to the pits in favor of the NAPA Flying Tiger feature.

Montpelier's David Redmond and Barre's Pete Potvin jumped out to early advantage, then 11 laps later, the skies opened up.

Thunder Road officials announced that the features for both Late Models and Flying Tigers will be added to next Thursday's Coca-Cola Holiday Fireworks program and that the post time will be moved up to 6 pm. For additional information, call 802-244-6963 or visit acttour.com.
