The Busch North guys rolled into town for their annual crack at the Nation's Site of Excitement. For some it was a return to old stomping grounds. One of those guys is long time racer from Vermont, Barney McRae. Pretty sharp looking car Barney has this year.
You can tell when the BNS guys roll into town as they seem to bring every Goodyear tire made for the last 5 years with them! I don't think I have seen as many tires at Thunder Road in whole season with the LMS guys.
Point leader coming into the days race, Matt Kobyluck had it rough from the start. Late in a early practice sessin Matt blew a tire and made his mark on the turn 3 dirt berm/wall. They spent a lot of time working on the car to get it ready for the show.
The pits were jammed packed with race cars on this perfect day for racing. You saw lots of faces you don't see much all year, such as Robin Wood and his LMS car... which appears to be for sale, no?
New point leader, Andy Santerre leading Carey Heath around the track during practice.
Bryan Wall getting a little sideways during practice. Many drivers in BNS had a hard time finding a fast way around Thunder Road.
Dale Shaw pulling into the pits after a practice session. Myself I thought Shaw had a real shot at winning but he ended up slapping the Widowmaker and the car was never good after that.
