Ryan Moore Endures Tough Outing at Thunder Road

Barre, VT - Ryan Moore was feeling very positive about his return to Thunder Road Speedbowl, one of several new tracks the ACT Dodge Tour Rookie will race on this year, and certainly one of his favorites thus far. Like his previous visit in early May, Moore's Chevrolet Monte Carlo was real quick during the practice sessions. The team made some minor adjustments to the chassis before Moore went to work in his heat race. Moore was able to place in the top-3 in his heat race, finishing third. With that effort, Moore earned the 13th starting spot for the 100-lap feature.

The car tightened up a bit during the later stages of the heat race so the Snyder's of Hanover team went to work to make some additional changes during the brief period between races.

As the green flag dropped on the fourth race of the season, the Scarborough, ME native settled into a rhythm and began his climb to the front. "The changes we made during the break seemed to work well, the car was a lot quicker," Moore said. Within a few circuits Moore was moving up through the field and breaking into the top 10.

Close to the mid-way point of the race, Moore was battling to stay in the top 10 but lost the low groove and ended up running into some dirt on the high side of the track, which made the car loose and it started to spin. As Moore battled to control the race car, the right rear of the car hit the retaining wall and quickly spun around slamming the front of the car violently into the wall. The hit caused considerable damage to the chassis and forced Moore to pit for repairs.

"Our car was working really well in the feature, the guys worked hard to loosen the car up and we were really expecting a good finish today," said Moore. The team worked hard to get the car back out on the track, but the damage was significant enough that the team was not able to complete the race. Moore was credited with a 24th place finish.

The ACT Dodge Tour will return to New Hampshire on June 1st to complete the postponed event at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester.
