With well over seventy race teams expressing their interest in competing in all or part of 2002 Pro All Stars Series schedule, candidates for the PASS/Northern Race Tires Rookie of the Year Challenge abound.

Among the talented crop of rookies expected to vie for the 2002 title are racing firefighter Chip Keene in the Dairy Joy Monte Carlo, Bobby Allen in Dave and Annette Joyce’s Allen Motors-sponsored Dodge Intrepid, and Wayne Helliwell Jr. behind the wheel of Carleton Robie’s always potent machine. Johnny Clark had to cut his 2001 Rookie campaign short due to injuries and will take another stab at the title in his D.N.K. Select Used Cars Monte Carlo. Mike Maietta Jr. will be a strong rookie candidate in his #3 Maietta Construction Ford Taurus, as will Bill Rogers in the Garland’s Oil- Hussey’s Texaco Chevrolet. Second generation racer Cassius Clark will make his Pro Stock debut at Oxford Plains Speedway, site of many of his dad Billy’s racing achievements.

The top finishing rookie at each Pro All Stars event will be awarded an American Racer racing tire at the next PASS event, while the 2002 Rookie of the Year will receive a set of four at the 2003 season opener, all courtesy of Northern Race Tires, official tire supplier for the PASS series.

Teams wishing to take part in The PASS/Northern Race Tires Rookie of the Year Challenge must sign up for the program prior to the New England Dodge Dealers 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway on April 14th.
