"MARTIN, MORSE, SHAW, AND AUDET WINNERS IN OPS LITTLE GUY 100's"

OXFORD, ME---Shawn Martin won the LST Landscaping and Property Management Late Model Stock segment of the popular Fall Finale at Oxford Plains Speedway Sunday afternoon. Richie Morse won the Limited Sportsman portion, Alex Shaw the Strictly Stock century distance race and Ted Audet won the 50 lap Mini Stock event.

Martin let early leaders Terry Merrill and Ricky Morse set the pace, but a turn of event changed all of the strategy around the 2/3's mark. With Morse setting a torrid pace Chris Bowie spun in turn two and in his attempt to restart his race he pulled out in front of Morse which let Merrill re-take the lead with Martin now the runner up when caution flew at the 3/4 mark. Martin easily out raced Merrill to turn two and pulled away to a wide margin. T. J. Brackett also found new handling advantages in the late stages to edge Merrill for the number two spot. Trailing Merrill was Morse and Perry Tucker.

Dana Grover and Chris Smith looked like they were the class of the Limited Sportsman field, but what they failed to factor was them making contact in turn four late in the race which allowed Richie Morse to take the lead. Duane Seekins was just out of the top five for much of the middle 1/3 of the race and when cars began to spin and slide out of contention the Stockton Springs driver was able to move up to second. Bill Dixon took advantage of a spin in front of the leaders on lap 48 to get back on the lead lap and then worked his way to the top and finished third. Dave Langlais was fourth and Chris Smith ended up his day fifth.

Alex Shaw was in a class by himself as he led 96 of the 100 laps in posting his first Little Guy 100's Strictly Stock event. Former Oxford champion Larry Emerson raced his way to the runner up spot and Adam Chadbourne was credited with third after Steve Moulton was disqualified for violation of the suspension rules. Steve Reno and Eric Mitchell rounded out top five.

The Mini Stock race belonged to Wal-Mart Rookie of the Year Champion Jeff Moon, but fate dealt him a crushing blow on the white flag lap. The a half straight away lead over Ted Audet a slower car blew the engine right in front of Moon and he skated hard into the back stretch retaining wall and handed the back door victory to Ted Audet. Butch Keen would elevate himself to second and Billy Thibeault third. Terry Warren and Guy Poulin rounded out the top five.
