Moore Closes Out ACT Season with Victory at Thunder Road
Ryan Moore scored his second ACT Dodge Tour Victory by pacing the field on Sunday
afternoon in the Fall Foliage 200 lap event at Thunder Road Speedbowl in Barre, VT.
Starting from the 18th position, Moore methodically paced himself and patiently raced up into the top-5, and then waited for an opportunity to challenge the race leaders.
He found his chance on lap 125 as he took advantage of some tough racing amongst the leaders on a restart and bolted down low to take over the race lead.
"I just wanted to stay on the lead lap until around 150 and then try to get out front and do the best we could and that's what we did," Moore said. "We had a good car and I knew Phil wasn't going to pull any dirty moves to try and get by me."
Moore held off the challenge of Phil Scott over the remaining circuits to capture the win. The official point standings will be announced later this week, and will show the 19-year-old Moore as finishing off his rookie season in the top-10.
"This is going to help decide everything, hopefully we can get the sponsors' attention, open their eyes a little bit," Moore said. "We have no clue what's going to happen next year; everything's up in the air; but I've learned a lot, a lot, a lot this year."
