Ryan Moore Finishes Fourth At Thunder Road
Barre, VT - Ryan Moore used the outside groove to his advantage Saturday evening at Thunder Road International Speedbowl to capture a fourth place finish in the ACT Dodge Tour 100. Moore struggled with the chassis setup earlier in the day, which cost him an opportunity to qualify for the feature event in the first heat race.
"The team worked hard trying to make the car comfortable to drive down low, but it was too tight to stay down low so we moved up a groove and the car worked really well," said Moore.
Moore entered the consolation race to compete for one of the remaining spots in the feature event. Starting ninth, Moore quickly moved up through the field, using the outside groove, and finished fourth and earning a spot in the 100 lap feature event.
For the feature event of the evening, Moore was posted eighth on the starting grid; an ideal spot for the RC Moore/Snyder's of Hanover Chevrolet. Moore, the leading rookie contender on the ACT Dodge Tour, used the outside groove all evening and moved up into the top-5 within the first thirty circuits.
While Moore battled amongst the top-10, the front three cars of Jean-Paul Cyr, Jamie Fisher and Herb Drugg had built a substantial lead on the field. "By the time I took over the fourth spot, those guys were long gone," Moore said. Except for the lap 1 caution, the race pretty much green to checkers, completing in just under a half hour.
Next weekend the ACT Dodge Tour does not have a scheduled event, but returns to Thunder Road on September 15. Moore is also planning on entering the Moore Racing Pro Stock in a PASS event on September 22 at Oxford Plains Speedway.
