Ryan Moore Finishes Third in True Value 250

ACT Dodge Tour competitor and 2001 Oxford Plains Speedway Late Model Champion Ryan Moore finished third overall in his first True Value 250 race Sunday evening at Oxford Plains Speedway.

"Our car was just awesome all night long, I'm worn out right now but this was just an awesome race for this team," said Moore. "My ACT Dodge Tour crew has worked extra hard to get this car ready and I'm really happy for them, they deserve this."

Moore missed qualifying for the event in his heat race, where he finished eighth overall, but responded back by winning in the consolation race to qualify for the Pro Stock extravaganza.

Starting from the 27th spot in the feature, the Scarborough, ME native patiently moved his way up to the front, not pushing the car at all just playing it safe.

On lap 90, Moore entered the pits and changed all four tires.

"Even after our pit stop, the car was just as good, it had such a good setup," said Moore.

Moore settled into third and was content following track veteran Mike Rowe, who had his sights on eventual race winner Scott Robbins.

"After that pit stop, I wasn't really sure what lap we were on," Moore continued, "but when my crew radioed to me that there were five laps to go, I was really excited and realized that I was going to finish third in the race."

Crew chief Steve Sullivan, who has guided Moore the past few seasons at Oxford Plains and on the ACT Dodge Tour, was impressed with his teams effort. "Our team has been building some momentum the last month or so and this will really help us leading into the second half of the season," Sullivan said.

Upon conclusion of the 2002 ACT Dodge Tour season, Moore plans to bring the Pro Stock car back to Oxford Plains Speedway to compete in the Open Competition events.
