Ryan Moore Opens 2002 ACT Dodge Tour Season at Star Speedway

Scarborough, ME -- The next generation of the Moore Racing family will embark on a mammoth undertaking this coming weekend at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire. Race fans, fellow competitors and the media alike have proclaimed the fledgling Ryan Moore as a talented race car driver that is capable of very big things in his career. But, like his father before him, young Ryan will earn his way to the top by racing on the highly competitive and fan friendly ACT Dodge Tour.

After winning the Rookie of the Year title in the Late Model Series at Oxford Plains Speedway in 2000, picking up two wins in his rookie season, Moore won the hearts of race fans throughout Maine by claiming the Late Model Series championship in 2001. “We improved our consistency during the 2001 season, and that is what we’re looking to do on the ACT Dodge Tour also,” said Moore. “This year is going to be a learning year for us, we’ll be traveling to tracks that we’ve never been too before and racing with drivers that are very competitive, but also I’m looking forward to learning more and racing with some of New England’s finest drivers.”

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo that Moore will pilot on the ACT Dodge Tour will be sponsored by RC Moore, Inc., a family owned transportation company that services the entire USA and Eastern Canada with offices in Scarborough, ME, Export, PA, Jessup, MD and Daytona Beach, FL. Associate sponsors for Moore Racing include Snyder’s of Hanover, a Pennsylvania based manufacturer of Pretzels, Maine Lubrication Services of Portland, ME, and Pennzoil Lubricants of Houston, TX. The cars and racing program will once again be guided by Steve Sullivan, the longtime crew chief of Kelly Moore, who guided Moore to the 1995 Busch North Series Championship. Sullivan is joined by two former multi-talented crew members of Moore Racing, Shawn Plowman and Frank Eaton, who’ve returned to help guide the younger Moore to a successful rookie campaign.

Moore will join more than 40 ACT Dodge Tour competitors at Star Speedway on Saturday, April 13 as they compete for the $20,500 purse in the New England Dodge Dealers 100. This is the first of 16 scheduled events for the ACT Dodge Tour in 2002.
