Craig Bushey Gains Airborne Flying Tiger Title Via Tie-Breaker

For Immediate Release AR48-082602

Plattsburgh, NY - - Craig Bushey has been named the 2002 Airborne Raceway Flying Tiger Sportsman track champion after ending the regular season tied with Joe Becker in the point standings. After review of the first tie-breaker, 2002 Airborne wins, found the pair still deadlocked at a win apiece, Bushey got the nod for having three second place finishes to none for Becker.

The title is the first ever for the 22 year-old Cambridge, VT driver of the K&R's Automotive/Green Mountain Collision Ciera No. 05.

Becker began Saturday's Four Season Real Estate race card 16 points behind Bushey. He closed within two points after his heat and the semi-feature, then finished fourth in the Dick Nephew Memorial main event, one spot better than fifth-place Bushey, creating a 995-995 tie.

Bushey and Becker are 1, 2 (256-234) in the ACT Subway Grand Slam Series, which concludes Sunday, September 15 at Thunder Road. Doug Murphy, third in points in the final Airborne standings, also sits third in the Subway Series with a 221 total.
