Airborne Plans Dick Nephew Memorial Race August 24

Plattsburgh, NY - - Airborne Raceway 's Flying Tiger Sportsman regular season finale Saturday, August 24, will be the Dick Nephew Memorial event, held in honor of the 1961 NASCAR National Sportsman champion from Mooers Forks, NY. A member of the New York State Stock Car Racing Hall Of Fame, Nephew won four consecutive Airborne track titles from 1958-1961 and six overall.

The Dick Nephew Memorial Flying Tiger Sportsman event, presented by Budweiser and Plattsburgh Distributing, is a part of the Four Seasons Real Estate race card, which includes the Renegades and Street Stocks.

Joe Becker of Jeffersonville, VT and Craig Bushey of Cambridge, VT are deadlocked atop the Flying Tiger Sportsman championship point standings, 22 points ahead of another talented Mooers Forks, NY racer, Jamy Begor. Becker, Bushey and Begor will square off this Saturday, August 10 in a regular season contest.
