For Immediate Release ACT72-101602
Waterbury, VT - - Nineteen year-old Ryan Moore of Scarborough, Me, who finished the 2002 ACT Dodge Tour with a flourish by winning the New England Dodge Dealers Fall Foliage 200 at Thunder Road, has been named ACT's Racing Electronics Rookie of the Year.
Moore was a two-time winner in the Late Model series and was ninth in the final ACT Dodge Tour standings. He drove the Snyder's Pretzels/R.C.Moore Transportation Chevrolet No. 47 to five top-5 finishes in 15 starts and out-pointed his nearest rookie rival John Donahue by a wide margin.
"I had some doubts about myself," Moore admitted. "I wish I got that first win earlier in the season, but I learned a lot racing on this Tour and I finished strong. Thunder Road is a special place to win a race. It has a lot of tradition behind it and a lot of competitive cars."
