ACT and Thunder Road Titles On The Line At Fall Foliage 200

For Immediate Release TR68-093002

Barre, VT - - The ACT Dodge Tour and three weekly divisions will determine their 2002 champions when Thunder Road's 43rd season concludes this Sunday, October 6. The Parts Plus finale includes the 31st Fall Foliage 200, the final event in the Subway "Grand Slam" Series for Flying Tigers, and the Parts Plus Street Stock trophy dash.

Phil Scott has a chance to sweep the ACT table clean, barring the sorts of trouble that derailed his Milk Bowl bid last weekend, having already won the 2002 Airborne Late Model crown. His sights are set on his first ACT Dodge Tour championship after several near-misses. He leads Canadian Patrick Laperle 1297-1222 and can clinch the title with a top-20 finish.

Scott is also the Thunder Road Late Model point leader, but his cushion in that contest is much smaller. Eric Williams trails him by 18 points, 879-861. Milk Bowl winner Dave Pembroke is also in the hunt at 844.

Craig Bushey and Joe Becker, who needed to go to a tie-breaker to settle the Airborne NAPA Flying Tiger championship (Bushey), are the top point-getters in the Subway Grand Slam Series with 256 and 234 respectively. Essex Jct veteran Joe Steffen seeking his first Thunder Road title, leads 2001 Flying Tiger Rookie of the Year Travis Calkins 977-936.

The 31st Dodge Dealers Fall Foliage 200 has a posted purse of $24,700, including $2,500-to-win. Gates open Sunday at 10 am. Post time is 1:30 pm. For more information, call 802-244-6963 or visit
