ACT's Ryan Moore and Brent Dragon Look Forward To Another Oxford Plains Showdown

For Immediate Release ACT54-073002

Oxford, Me - - The 2002 ACT Dodge Tour makes its only Maine appearance this Saturday at Oxford Plains Speedway for the New England Dodge Dealers 100 and eighteen year-old Ryan Moore of Scarborough, Me is looking to duplicate last year's winning performance. The 2001 Oxford Plains Late Model champion, caught Brent Dragon near the halfway mark last year and went on to win the first ACT Dodge Tour event he had ever entered. Dragon, still thinking of "the race that got away" is looking for a reversal of fortune after finishing second, one spot ahead of Moore, in last week's Mid-Summer 100 at Star Speedway in Epping, NH.

Brent's cousin, Scott Dragon took the Star checkers and became the eighth different winner in 10 ACT races this season. "Scott was very strong at Star, so I know he's excited about going to Oxford," Brent Dragon said. "As for me, I've been going well lately, and if it turned out to be Ryan and me up at the front at the end, I'd think it would be a good race."

"I was pretty quick at Star and I thought I might have won, but there's been a lot of thrashing lately and it didn't turn out that way," said Moore, who came from the rear twice to finish third. "I'd like to win another one at Oxford and try to sew up the Rookie of the Year thing. Hopefully, we'll have a good race. I think the main thing in these cars is to make sure you don't burn the tires off. Oxford's kind of one big turn and on 8" tires you have to make sure you've got something left at the end."

Several Oxford Plains regulars, including Ricky Rolfe, Travis Adams and Tim Cook are expected to attempt to qualify for one of the 36 spots available on the new England Dodge Dealers grid. They'll go up against the likes of ACT point leader Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT, 2001 ACT champion Pete Fecteau, Eric Williams, Jamie "Hurricane" Fisher, Canadian Patrick Laperle and Dwayne Lanphear. Lanphear, winner of the 2001 Milk Bowl at Thunder Road, rose to second place with a fourth place finish at Star. Fisher and Lanphear finished 3, 4 at Oxford a year ago.

Oxford Plains' Pro-Stocks, Limited Sportsmen, Strictly Stocks and Mini-Stocks will also be in action on the New England Dodge Dealers 100 card. Post time is 7 pm. For additional information, call (802) 244-6963 or visit
