ACT Dodge Tour Back On The Road; Star Saturday, Oxford Plains Next Week

For Immediate Release ACT51-072202

Waterbury, VT - - After a two-week layoff, the ACT Dodge Tour is back in action this Saturday, July 27 at Star Speedway in Epping, NH, then heads for Oxford Plains Speedway for the New England Dodge Dealers 100 Saturday, August 3.

Phil Scott, in pursuit of his first ACT crown, is the Tour point leader on the strength of six top-5's in 10 starts. Scott has yet to win, but he has also yet to be denied a top-10 finish despite repeated starts from deep in the field under ACT's handicap system. He leads two-time winner Patrick Laperle of St Denis, Quebec 810-743.

Laperle won the ACT Dodge Tour opener at Star and the Country Pools 100 at White Mountain in June. Eric Williams of Hyde Park, VT holds down third place with 723 points after back-to-back fourth place showings at Circuit Ste-Croix Quebec and the True Value 150 at Airborne Raceway.

Dwayne Lanphear and Jean-Paul Cyr, who both came up empty at Star the first time around, complete the ACT top five. Cyr has won two events since failing to qualify for the New England Dodge Dealers 100 at Star.

More than 30 Late Models are expected to compete for 26 starting spots at Star. The ranks will swell the following week at Oxford Plains, where a contingent of Oxford regulars including Ricky Rolfe, Mike Short, Travis Adams and Tim Cook will be on hand to greet the invaders. The race will be another homecoming for ACT regular Ryan Moore. The 18 year-old Scarborough, Me. star won the Oxford event in 2001 and recently finished third in the Oxford 250.

Post time for this Saturday's ACT event at Star Speedway is 5 pm. ACT Dodge Tour competitors will take part in a driver autograph session prior to the first green flag. For additional information, visit or
