Plattsburgh, NY - - Jean-Paul Cyr out-dueled Jamie Fisher to win the True Value 150 at Airborne Raceway Saturday night after tough-luck leaders Dave Pembroke and Todd Stone were wiped out on lap 64 by back marker Gary Cunningham. Pembroke, who had led from the start, and had Stone on his tail, was exiting turn four when Cunningham, who had spun at the rear of the field, crossed their path in an unsuccessful attempt to get out of harm's way. No drivers were seriously injured, but only Stone, at half-speed, managed to complete any more laps.

Cyr and Fisher escaped without a scratch and began their own wheel to wheel battle for the lead. Cyr took command on lap 70 and earned in second ACT Dodge Tour win of the season. Dwayne Lanphear, who raced from the last row of the 30-car field, finished third several car lengths back. Eric Williams and Pete Fecteau completed the top five.

ACT point leader Phil Scott advanced as high as third behind Cyr and Fisher, before tire problems dropped him back to 10th. Scott had a 30-lap mid-race battle for third with Steve Miller (6th) before first Lanphear, and then Williams, ran them down.

The race had been a rough and tumble affair with multiple cautions prior to the Pembroke-Stone knockout, then went green throughout the second half, which was fine with Cyr. "I got some daylight between myself and it was good that I did, because I had lapped traffic to race through and I was only fast on the bottom," Cyr said. "When I got further out, the car would really push."

Number two point man, Patrick Laperle, forced to pit for a tire, fell a lap down and settled for 17th. Positions 7-10 went to Cris Michaud, Ryan Moore, Brent Dragon and Scott.

The ACT Late Models return to Airborne this Saturday, July 13 for the Remington "4-10" Shootout and the make-up of the previously rained-out Leo's Furniture 100. The ACT Dodge Tour travels to southern New Hampshire the following weekend for appearances at Star Speedway, Saturday, July 27 and Hudson Speedway Sunday, July 28.
