ACT Dodge Tour Lands At Airborne Saturday

For Immediate Release ACT44-070202

Plattsburgh, NY - - More than 35 ACT Dodge Tour Late Models are expected at Airborne Raceway this Saturday for the True Value 150. Past success on the Plattsburgh asphalt half-mile has several title contenders thinking they can close the gap between themselves and ACT point leader Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT.

Patrick Laperle of St. Denis, Quebec, Todd Stone, Brent Dragon and Mike Bruno, 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 8th in points respectively, have all enjoyed much success at Airborne. Laperle, the Tour's only double winner this season, is a former Airborne Late Model Rookie of the Year and a past winner of the Fall Foliage 200. Stone has multiple Airborne wins including the prestigious Spring Green, while Dragon and Bruno are both former track champions.

As for Scott, the two-time Thunder Road Champion has six top-5 finishes in the first eight ACT Dodge Tour events, including a 5th in the Ehler's RV Spring Green 100 at Airborne in May. He leads Laperle 727-667.

The True Value 150 is the first of three high-dollar Late Model races slated for Airborne over the next two weekends. On Saturday, July 13, Airborne will make-up the Remington "4-10" Shootout which was snowed out in April and the previously rained-out Leo's Furniture 100. The combined three-race purse exceeds $40,000.

The NAPA Flying Tiger Sportsmen, Street Stocks and Renegades will also be in action Saturday. Gates open at 4 pm. Post time is 7 pm. Admission is $15/adults, $5/children (6-12) and $25/family ticket (2 adults, 2 children).

Airborne Raceway is located in Plattsburgh on Broderick Road, just off Route 22, one mile south of I-87 exit 36. For additional information, call (802) 244-6963 weekdays or (518) 561-3208 on race day.
