ACT Dodge Tour Young'uns Ready To Make More Noise At Thunder Road

Barre, VT - - Another big ACT Dodge Tour Late Model field is expected at Thunder Road this Sunday (May 26) for the 31st Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic, which offers 26 starting positions and a $20,600 purse.

Thunder Road's season opener drew 50 Late Model teams, including a large contingent of young drivers that have proven to be very competitive. ACT point leader Patrick Laperle, 26, of St. Denis, Quebec has a win at Star Speedway and a sixth-place finish at Thunder Road. Jacob McGrath, 26, of Mendon, VT and Shelburne's Jamie Fisher, 29, finished 1, 3 in Airborne Raceway's Spring Green two weeks ago. 

Other members of ACT's youth movement looking to build upon some early season success include, Scott Dragon, Derek Ming, Dave Pembroke, Cooper MacRitchie and Rookie of the Year Candidates, Ryan Moore and John Donahue.

Defending Thunder Road Late Model Champion Cris Michaud recorded his first career Thunder Road win at last year's Memorial Day Classic. The race was once the personal stomping ground of Thunder Road fan favorite Dave Dion, who won it eight times, including four straight from 1989-92.
