Not Easy To Pick An ACT Winner At Monadnock
For Immediate Release ACT30-051502
Winchester, NH - - The ACT Dodge Tour Late Model stock car racing series invades
Monadnock Speedway this Saturday, May 18, and the list of potential winners is long. The last
nine races on the ACT circuit, including three events this season, have produced nine different
winners.
The latest member of the new winners club is Jacob McGrath, 26, of Mendon, VT.
McGrath's Spring Green 100 victory at Airborne Raceway (NY) last Saturday was a career first.
Point leader Patrick Laperle of St Denis, Quebec and former ACT Champion Jean-Paul Cyr of
Milton, VT, also have 2002 wins.
Laperle is one of four competitors with top-10 finishes in each 2002 race. Phil Scott,
Todd Stone and Brent Dragon have also recorded three straight top-10's. All four drivers will
start toward the rear of the New England Dodge Dealers 100 26-car grid at Monadnock, under
ACT's handicap system.
Two drivers hoping to qualify and use the handicap to their advantage, are 2001 ACT
Champion Pete Fecteau and 2001 Thunder Road Champion Cris Michaud, both of whom have
struggled in the early going this year.
Post time Saturday is 5:30 pm. Gates open at 3:00 pm. Monadnock's weekly divisions,
Pro-Stocks, Late Models, Strictly Stocks and Mini-Stocks will also be in action. Monadnock
Speedway is located on Route 10 in Winchester, NH, seven miles south of Keene. For further
information, call 603-239-4067, the ACT office at 802-244-6963 or visit www.acttour.com.
