Brian Hoar Back In Action At Thunder Road Opener

Barre, VT - - Five-time American Canadian Tour Champion Brian Hoar of Williston,
VT returns to Thunder Road Late Model competition for this Sunday's 43rd season
opener, the Merchants Bank Freedom Lynx 150. Hoar, a current regular on the Busch
North NASCAR circuit, will drive the Komatsu Equipment Chevrolet No. 09 prepared by
Ellery Packard.
Forty-three Late Model drivers have entered Sunday's event, which will start 26
cars in pursuit of a $23,000 purse. Hoar captured the 1999 Thunder Road title and is a
past winner of every major Thunder Road event, including the Milk Bowl, except for the
traditional Merchants Bank season opener.
Hoar will go up against 2001 ACT Champion Pete Fecteau of Morrisville, defending
"King of the Road" Cris Michaud of Northfield, former Thunder Road Champions Phil Scott
and Tracie Bellerose, and Patrick Laperle of St Denis, Quebec, winner of the season's
first tour event Star Speedway two weeks ago.
The NAPA Flying Tigers and Allen Lumber Street Stocks will also be on hand. 
More than 120 race cars will compete and take part in "Class Day" opening ceremonies,
beginning at 1 pm. Post time is 1:30 pm. Gates open at 10 am. Admission is $15/adults,
$5/children (6-12).
